What Is The Money Called In Etg

Avatar image for l0rdenglish

Hey so I'm playing the game and really enjoying it (I suck though). The one thing I can't manage to do is fulfill the elevator guy's request.

He asks for 120 coins and 3 keys. I can get the keys hands in a ii floor run, just I but can't seem to become 120 coins past the time I beat flooring 2. What am I doing wrong? Is there some kind of trick to this that I merely don't know or is information technology only something I gotta keep trying once again and once more?

Are you lot getting hit besides much? When an enemy hits y'all that enemy volition not drop money when they die. Other than that you tin can sell guns to the sewer guy in the shop when he appears. Beyond that you are at the whims of the randomly generated floors, some are smaller than others and have less to do. The skips are mean't to be hard to obtain by the very nature of the blazon of game it is.

Wow, it's 120, non 150. I could've turned information technology in last dark but I thought I didn't have plenty! Gah!

Knowing that now, I can say that the mode I had that amount was selling all of my guns and items to the sewer guy when he spawned in the first shop. I waited till I killed the boss, sold everything, so went to the second floor.

Shoot things until they are dead and don't die.

Another thing that helps is do the cloak-and-dagger floor betwixt the first and 2nd, that'll give you more time to accumulate money.

Avatar image for l0rdenglish

holy shit I had no idea yous had to non accept harm from an enemy for it to give you lot money. that volition definitely help me out.

What exactly is the undercover floor and how practise I access it?

Avatar image for neocalypso

Another matter that helps is practise the secret floor betwixt the first and second, that'll requite you more than time to accumulate coin.

The secret floor that requires 2 keys? You're just trading one shortage for another i.

Avatar image for westernwizard

@l0rdenglish: How to access the clandestine area for floor ane Find the fireplace, then go looking for the blue barrels (when you lot push them around they leak water) and shove it into the fireplace, or utilize a h2o gun. Go inside the fireplace and flip a switch (aforementioned button every bit picking up ammo). A new room opens somewhere on the floor, at this point y'all spend ii keys and then autumn down between floors.

@neocalypso: Yeah, if you go to the secret floor, it almost assures you won't have enough keys for shortcut guy.

All things considered, my least favourite thing in Enter the Gungeon is how many things are locked in the game, and that the key drop rate is dramatically lower than something like Binding of Isaac.

Avatar image for joystick_hero

I've found using the Pilot proficient for grinding the key/money requirements for the shortcuts. In lodge to hit the numbers, you're basically required to purchase zilch from the shops or open chests. The pilot, with his lockpick, lets yous at least have a chance at getting items to fight the dominate with under those conditions.

Though, I hate to say it, further unlocks will have even more than outrageous requirements.

Avatar image for westernwizard

What'southward funny is, how many times are most people fifty-fifty going to Apply elevator man'due south benefits? To do a "real run" you take to go through every floor anyway. Only benefit I tin can imagine is wanting to practice say third floor and dealing with the damned Treadnaught (and probably quaternary floor with the wall, whatever information technology is called) without having to deal with all the time in the previous floors. But is that worth all the hassle of accumulating the stuff? Honestly I'll probably just do information technology when I feel similar I don't intendance virtually a given run but have the materials fall into my lap (lucky l casing drib, that sort of thing).

Avatar image for bisonhero

@westernwizard: Yeah, in Spelunky information technology was expert for practicing afterward levels, because sometimes it was nice to skip the Jungle because I swear to god I somehow randomly died in that zone all the time even though it'south still early. Though bluntly the terminal couple shortcut requirements in Spelunky were kinda ridiculous too.

Only in this game especially, since information technology's a Bounden of Isaac-like where it'southward all virtually accruing powerups and guns, why would yous willingly skip the kickoff few floors, unless the skip simply gifts you similar 400 casings to make up for all the lost money? At least in Spelunky the game is kinda completeable with well-nigh whatsoever item loadout, and missed coin is meaningless except for score because eventually most players just steal items from the store keeper anyway, and yous can pretty much always steal a shotgun from the shopkeeper.

Avatar image for rickrockmann

@westernwizard: Yous unlock some pretty sweet items forth with the shortcuts, so they're definitely worth doing fifty-fifty if y'all don't plan on using them.

Avatar image for westernwizard

@rickrockmann: Ah ha so they did requite a existent incentive. Good to know. Notwithstanding volition probably non get out of my way early, just do whatsoever every bit it makes sense.

Avatar image for l0rdenglish

@westernwizard to be honest I just want to try and complete it considering its something I can incrementally piece of work towards. I doubt I'll exist good enough to beat the game whatever time soon, but its definitely a reasonable goal to endeavour and get the items he needs within 2 levels.

Avatar image for quipido

I tin ostend that enemies who hitting y'all definetely CAN driblet money. I have no idea if accurateness and overal speed of cleering rooms affects money drops only it is definetely non every bit unproblematic as enemies hitting you non dropping cash.

Only 120+ runs in I am definetely getting more money somehow, equally my play amend.

As for the shortcut guy, I don't actually see the point of information technology either, merely it propels me to play and progress further, just to have the goal. I am currently almost washed with shortcut to Sleeping room 4, missing simply Hegemony bucks. Information technology'south pretty bang-up yous can consummate all the steps for the given shortcut in any order, even if not asked for an item yet he volition accept it. So if yous are collecting money and keys and in the process manage to kill the dominate without getting striking, the shortcut guy will take the antiquity as well.

Avatar image for joystick_hero

@quipido: Getting more than money in later runs might be a effect of the game spawning harder enemies before as you play the game more.

At least, it seems like I run into more than blueish shotgun shells, light-green books, and gun nuts on floor one than I ever had seen before.

Avatar image for westernwizard

@joystick_hero: Take you beaten the game, either normally or the total articulate? If then I wonder if the game is similar Isaac where after completing sure weather it makes the game harder (in Isaac information technology was like v or 10 mom wins I think that upped the difficulty on earlier floors).

Avatar image for quipido

@joystick_hero: Have y'all beaten the game, either commonly or the full clear? If so I wonder if the game is like Isaac where afterward completing certain conditions information technology makes the game harder (in Isaac it was similar 5 or 10 mom wins I retrieve that upped the difficulty on before floors).

I have not browbeaten the game even so but the 1st Bedroom did get harder for certain, but it also has a hazard to spawn a room with a friend (Winchester etc.)

Avatar image for joystick_hero

I've gotten the full catastrophe at this bespeak (trounce the game with all characters, beat the bonus boss), but I'grand pretty certain the difficulty ramped up as I cleared more than floors, even before winning.

Avatar image for westernwizard

Hm interesting to know. I'1000 yet mostly pretty bad (been to the quaternary floor 4x, never made it to the 5th despite several runs with the super meat gun).

Plus side I did articulate the side quest related to Manny.

Avatar image for chu52

Another matter that helps is practice the secret floor betwixt the get-go and 2d, that'll give you more than time to accumulate money.

"Helps" goddamn Oublitte is so rough on my weak trunk. I have yet to "git gud"

Avatar image for joystick_hero

@chu52: I'd probably pass on the Oubliette, unless you've already gotten to the betoken where y'all can attain the fourth floor pretty reliably. The enemies there are on par with flooring 3, just without the added benefit of two floors of loot.

Though, the added loot from taking a detour definitely has an appeal.

Avatar image for chu52

@joystick_hero: oka . That sets a practiced goal. I finally got reliable at getting up to and through about of level 3. Been to 4 once thank you to ridiculously adept drops. Fatty bees really wrecked Treadnaught (for babies not existent Treadnaught)

Avatar image for neocalypso

I'm on the final pace of the third shortcut and in retrospect it's insane how much harder this iii cardinal/120 cash requirement was than the other ones. Even the adjacent level which is 4 keys/180 greenbacks I was able to finish on the run immediately after completing the first shortcut. The keys and money is such a dam in progress that when I finally got them to that guy I was able to immediately end upwardly the shortcut entirely because I already had a master round and Hegemony Credits.
